What does audit ready actually mean for a fund report?
Last reviewed: 18 September 2026
For every reported figure: the supporting evidence exists and can be produced, the version used is identifiable, the approval is documented, and a person can be named as responsible. That standard does not change with the software used. What software changes is how long it takes to demonstrate. If evidence, approval and accounting entry are already linked, an audit request is a query. If they are not, it is a search across email, spreadsheets and someone's memory.
Audit ready is used loosely in marketing, including by platform vendors. It is worth reducing it to something testable. Pick three figures from your last LP report at random and ask how long it takes to produce the evidence, the version, the approval and the name behind each one.
The answer to that question is the honest measure. Most teams find that one of the three is easy and two require chasing.
Nothing about that requires a specific vendor. It requires that the chain from evidence to reported figure is recorded as work happens, rather than reassembled when someone asks.

Frequently asked questions
Does using a platform make a fund audit ready?
No. A platform can make the evidence chain easy to keep and easy to produce. Whether the chain is complete still depends on the firm's own process, and no vendor can claim otherwise honestly.
Is Reuben AI SOC 2 compliant?
No, and we do not claim to be. Our security page sets out what we do provide, including data isolation and access controls, so you can assess it against your own requirements.
What do auditors usually ask for first?
Support for valuations, the basis of fee calculations, and confirmation that distributions followed the agreement. Confirm the specific request list with your own auditor before the cycle starts.
How early should this be set up?
Before the first close if possible. Retrofitting an evidence chain onto a fund's first two years of activity is materially harder than keeping it from the start.
